Clock Repair and Servicing

We believe nothing is beyond repair

Our Approach

Repairs

There is a reliably predictable list of things that have worn or broken that will stop a clock, all of which we can repair or replace.

Cleaning and oiling

Sounds simple, but unavoidably means dismantling the clock, deep-cleaning the parts, reassembling, oiling and testing for accurate time-keeping. Any clock we work on needs to be sure that the clock is being returned in a condition ready to run for years to come.

No clock is too humble

The story behind a clock is what makes it really valuable, and most normal people have normal clocks. We treat them all as precious to the owner.

Bringing clocks back from even the most desperate states through careful dismantling, cleaning, and testing.

How long will it take?

This depends on current works levels. We’ll only take your clock in when we have given you a return date that you are happy with.

What will it cost?

We price every job individually. The cost is the aggregate of any repairs needed and the cleaning cost. Cleaning cost depends on how many gear trains the clock has (ordinarily between 1 and 3). We can give you a guide price when we know what clock you have and then confirm the price with you when we have inspected your clock before we start work.

We don’t charge VAT.

We collect and deliver

You can drop off your clock if that is easier but we can collect and always look to deliver and install a repaired clock to make sure it is running properly back in its home.

We don’t do watches

Sorry, but they aren’t the same, even though they both tick – and our passion is clocks. But you can find some good resources by following these links …..
